Life is a Treasure

Life is a treasure more precious
    Than gold
It values are endless its uses
    Untold
Its riches are found in the
    Growth of the mind
It’s values are met by the goals
    That we find.

Life is a magic while passing
    It gives
From bud to full bloom like
    A delicate rose
Then withers and fades with
    Naught left to see
Still the beauty remains in
    Sweet memory

Life is a test of the soul of
    A man
It censures the wasteful as only
    Life can
A life spent to satisfy
    Selfish desires
Blackens the soul like the coals of
    A fire.

Life is a teacher of patience and trust
We learn by mistakes and change
As we must
By learning we grow on each
Passing day
    Within us develops what we
Think and say

Life gives each person unmeasured amounts
Of minutes, some ample, some short too
Short to count
    The importance being, the goals
That we reach

Life gives us no answers for each soul is free
To decide what to learn, what
To do, what to be
    This freedom has pitfalls, blind
Alleys and turns
    But none stands still and
Everyone learns

Life will be teacher and magic treasure
If each person learns what goals
He must measure
For our earthly life is a gift from abroad
Offered by God in infinite love

Our goal is to find God’s perfect way
To values and uses and all that we say
For if life is lived with nurthuring
    Love
Our soul will soar upward to
    Heaven above
